Before you write
Why doesn’t my result match my payslip exactly?
Our calculators estimate the most common situations: employment income with standard deductions and allowances. Each one lists what it leaves out, such as other income, itemized deductions or less common credits, so check the assumptions under the calculator. If you still think a number is wrong, please tell us.
Have you updated for the latest budget?
We update our calculators for each new tax year and whenever a change is enacted during the year. Our key dates page lists upcoming budgets and changes, and the calculators we’ll update.
Do you see the numbers I enter?
No. Calculations run in your browser, and the numbers you enter aren’t sent to or stored on our servers. They may appear in the page address so you can bookmark or share a result.
Can you advise me on my own situation?
We can’t give personal financial, tax or legal advice. For decisions about your own situation, speak to a qualified professional such as a tax adviser, accountant, mortgage broker or financial planner.
